Meet The Broadcast Teams
Men’s Play-by-Play Announcer
A sports media major here at Rider, I grew up in Hunterdon County and graduated two years ago from North Hunterdon High School. I am a huge NFL and NBA fan, but my favorite sports has to be college football. Since I was little kid my favorite sports teams are the New York Giants and the Portland Trailblazers. I’m also a huge music fan and love classic rock. My favorite bands are Led Zeppelin, the Grateful Dead, and the Beatles. It’s always been a dream of mine to be on the radio and I can’t wait to get a start here on the Bronc!
Men’s Color Analyst
My name is Demara Barnes. I am a Film and TV radio major with a concentration in TV and a minor in Journalism. I want to pursue a career as either a sports broadcaster or a film editor/producer. In my spare time I love reading, singing and filming my own movies. Everyone that knows me will say I have a great personality and am a fun person to be around.
Women’s Play-by-Play Announcer
Shawn is majoring in Communication Studies with a minor in Sports Studies. He grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio and now lives in Bridgewater, NJ. You can find him gaming with his friends on Xbox and practicing his field goal kicking skills. His lifelong goal is to be a sports broadcaster. Sportscasting on 107.7 The Bronc is giving Shawn the opportunity to have hands-on experience in the broadcast industry and is the first step in helping him achieve that goal.
Women’s Color Analyst
I am a Film and TV major and this is my first year at Rider. I will be a part of the broadcasting team as a color analyst for the 2020-2021 Rider women’s basketball season. I recently played at the NCAA D2 and D3 collegiate level at Newberry College in Newberry, SC and Mount Aloysius College in Cresson, PA. I made the ECAC All-Academic Honor Roll during the 2017-2018 season. Other than watching sports, I enjoy the great outdoors, watching movies and enjoying time with my family.
