Qualifying students will work with a Rider Dining by Aramark pastry chef to create their dessert and compete in the Dessert Wars: Candyland performance cooking competition on April 23, 2015 from 5 – 7 p.m. at one of three action stations at Daly Dining Hall.

FinaleAll Dessert Wars: Candyland qualifiers must be able to participate in the Dessert Wars: Candyland finale on April 23, 2014 from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. at Daly Dining Hall. If, for any reason, an original qualifier is not able to participate, an alternate will be chosen as his/her replacement. The original contestant chosen will be disqualified.

During the competition, three celebrity judges will sample and rate each recipe/dessert on a scale of 1 to 10 in four categories: Presentation, Creativity, Taste/Flavor, and how well the student incorporated candy as the key ingredient. Contestants can receive a maximum of 40 points per judge or 120 points total.

Rider students will also have the opportunity to sample all qualifying recipes and text their vote for their favorite entry to 877-900-1077, between 4:30 and 6:20 p.m., on Thursday, April 23, 2015. The student with the highest vote total will receive 10 additional points. Nine points for the second most votes cast and eight points for third. Winner will be announced at 6:30 p.m.

The student/recipe with the most points at the end of the competition will be deemed Dessert Wars champion. Maximum points: 130.
