Contest is open to all full or part-time Rider students enrolled during the 2021 spring semester. Please note: this is a sweets competition. No savory recipes will be accepted. Submissions must be a dessert and contain flour as one of its ingredients.

Recipes can be in the form of a cake, cupcake, cookie, pie, tart/torte, donut, or any dessert, so long as flour is used in the recipe, including gluten-free flours. All desserts will be judged on innovation, incorporation of ingredients, and your recipes overall WOW factor, as well as if the recipe successfully reflects the theme of this year’s contest, “Flour Power.”

Judges will select three qualifying and three alternate recipes from the student submissions compiled during the entry period listed above. The Top Three student recipes, as chosen by the judges, will each make dessert during a live, Zoom baking demonstration for Rider University on Friday, March 19 at 7 p.m.

Entrants must be able to appear in the Dessert Wars: Flour Power Baking Demonstration on Friday, March 19 at 7 p.m. to be eligible to win. Contestant substitutions will not be permitted.

In the event a qualifying student chef can’t appear in the Dessert Wars: Flour Power Baking Demonstration a Rider student will be chosen from the list of alternates.

Voting for the best recipe will take place from Monday, March 14 to Friday, March 19. Voting will be online at www.1077TheBronc.com and overseen by The Bronc’s Web Director and other executive staff members during the voting period.
