107.7 The Bronc and Applebees Grill & Bar in Hamilton are teaming up to raise money for a new cause, The Cathy Carter-Romero Memorial Endowed Scholarship.
This academic scholarship was created in memory of Cathy Carter-Romero, former Director of Creative Services with the Office of Marketing and Communications, who lost her battle to cancer in 2015. The Bronc is helping to keep Cathy’s legacy alive by helping to endow this academic scholarship for a future Bronc!
So far 107.7 The Bronc has raised 2,424.10 dollars for the Cathy Carter- Romero Memorial Endowed Scholarship.
Through Cathy’s memory, help us bring future broncs into the Rider community by playing Launch-A-Bronc once again this season at Alumni Gym!
For years, your Launch-A-Bronc donations have helped The Bronc raise tens of thousands of dollars. In previous years we have raised over $24,000 for the American Cancer Society. And this year, we hope to raise money in honor of our beloved Rider employee through the scholarship founded in her name!
If you have never heard of Launch-A-Bronc, here’s how it works! At all men’s and women’s home basketball games at Alumni Gym, 107.7 The Bronc personalties sell mini-basketballs before the game and during halftime. Balls are available to purchase for $1.00 each; six for $5.00; and twelve for $10.00, plus a free 107.7 The Bronc T-shirt. And everyone who donates to Launch-A-Bronc receives a $5 coupon to Applebee’s Grill and Bar in Hamilton.
Immediately following the game, Rider students, alumni, families, and fans have the opportunity to toss the mini-basket-balls they purchased into targets. Set up on the court, containing gift cards and prizes to local restaurants and stores or into a bucket holding our grand prize: a $100 Visa gift card.
