Submissions can be a breakfast, lunch or dinner entrée that you would bring to a get-together, party or picnic with family and friends. Recipes can be baked, fried, roasted, grilled, sautéed, boiled, slow-cooked, etc. Recipes will be judged on originality, creativity, taste, visual and crowd appeal; and if the recipe reflects the theme of this year’s contest successfully. Daly’s is a nut-free dining facility. Recipes may not include the following: peanuts, tree nuts and coconut.

Judges will select three qualifying recipes and three alternates recipes from the many student submissions compiled during the entry period listed above.

Qualifying students will have the opportunity to compete alone, with a member of their family, or if no relative is available, an on-campus or off-campus friend, at the Rider Student Top Chef: Potluck Finale Thursday, November 18, 2021 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at one of three culinary stations at Daly Dining Hall. All of-campus guests must complete Rider University’s Covid-19 waiver.

Entrants must be present and be able to prep, cook and serve their recipe, starting between Noon and 2 p.m, the day of the finale to be eligible for prizes. Each contestant will receive a minimum of 2 ½ hours prep time. No contestant substitutions will be permitted.

In the event a qualifying student chef can’t compete in the Rider Student Top Chef: Potluck Finale an alternate student chef will be chosen from the list of alternates. Gourmet Dining, LLC will be on-hand to assist each student chef in the preparation of his/her qualifying recipe and to insure both the student and the university are compliant with all Lawrence Township Board of Health codes.

During the performance cooking competition Rider students will have the opportunity to sample and vote for each qualifying recipe. Voting will take place via 107.7 The Bronc’s website at www.1077TheBronc.com/potluckvotes from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2021.
