Submit your best seafood dish in which fish, shellfish or mollusks are featured as the main ingredient via the Rider Student Top Chef: Fresh Catch contest page at www.1077TheBronc.com from Wednesday, October 8, 2017 at 12:01 a.m. to Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 5 p.m. Contest is open to full and part-time Rider students enrolled during the 2017 fall semester. Please note: this is a savory contest. No desserts will be accepted. Submissions can be a breakfast, lunch or dinner entrée accompanied by one side dish for plating. Seafood recipes entered can be baked, fried, roasted, grilled, sautéed, boiled, slow-cooked, etc. Judges will select three qualifying recipes and three alternates from the many student submissions complied during the entry period listed above. Recipes will be judged on originality, creativity, taste, visual appeal, crowd appeal and if the recipe reflects the theme of this year’s contest successfully.
Qualifying students will compete at the Rider Student Top Chef: Fresh Catch Finale Wednesday, November 15, 2017 from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at one of three culinary stations at Daly Dining Hall. Entrants must be present and be able to prep, cook and serve their recipe the day of the event to be eligible for prizes. No contestant substitutions will be permitted. In the event a qualifying student chef can’t compete in the Rider Student Top Chef: Fresh Catch Finale an alternate student chef will be chosen from the list of alternates. Rider University Dining Services by Aramark will be on-hand to assist each student chef in the preparation of his/her qualifying recipe and to insure both the student and the university are compliant with all Lawrence Township Board of Health codes. During the performance cooking competition Rider students will have the opportunity to sample and vote for each qualifying recipe. Voting will take place via text and tabulated by ZipWhip and overseen by The Bronc’s Social Media Director and other staff members during the voting period from 4:30 – 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 15, 2017. The student/recipe with the most votes by 6:30 p.m. will be deemed winner of Rider Student Top Chef: Fresh Catch and announced live at Daly Dining Hall and live on 107.7 The Bronc by no later than Wednesday, November 15, 2017.

Qualifying Prize: Everyone who enters Rider Student Top Chef: Fresh Catch will receive a pair of tickets to the East Coast Indoor Dirt Nationals, Friday, December 1, 2017 at the CURE Insurance Arena, formerly the Sun National Bank Center.
